Join Dream Photography Workshops for the experience of a life time on this 14 day Photography Workshop in Kenya. We will explore 3 different National Parks and Reserves in search of the most stunning wildlife you will find on the planet.

For this workshop Trent and Hamish will guide you on an intimate 6 guest Safari driven by some of the most knowledgeable guides in Kenya. Our local Safari guides have in-depth knowledge of the Flora and Fauna we endeavour to capture in specially designed 4x4 Landcruiser vehicles with Safari and Photography in mind.

This workshop takes place over 14 days as we strive to give you an experience that you won’t forget. This is longer than most workshops here, but this means more time on the ground to capture stunning moments in various conditions.

● 4 nights accommodation (breakfast and one lunch included) at Bidwood Suites Hotel in Nairobi.

● 3 nights full board accommodation (breakfast, lunch & dinner) at Ol Tukai Lodge in Amboseli National Park.

● 3 nights full board accommodation (breakfast, lunch and dinner) at Serena lodge.

● 3 nights full board accommodation (breakfast, lunch and dinner) at Mara Crossings Camp.

● Ground transport from Nairobi to all the parks and back.

● All airport transfers.

● Sunrise safari at Nairobi National Park, a visit to the fams David Sheldricks Elephant Orphanage, a visit to the Giraffe Centre and lunch at a restaurant in Nairobi.

Safari Itinerary

Day 1: All members of the group will arrive in Nairobi. You will stay at Bid Wood Suites in Nairobi for the first two nights. This will give everyone a chance to get to know each other and prepare for the next two weeks.

Day 2: The first safari of the trip will take place at Nairobi national park. This will give guests a great chance to get their eye in and dial in there settings before we head out to Amboseli the following day, while in Nairobi National Park you will get the chance to possibly see 4 out of the big 5. After this we will take you to visit the Sheldrick Elephant orphanage and Giraffe centre nearby before enjoying lunch at one of Nairobi’s restaurant Cultiva.

Day 3: You will have an early morning start (6am) from Nairobi to avoid rush hour traffic heading to Amboseli National Park. It approximately takes 4 hours to drive from Nairobi to Amboseli by road. You’ll have a short game drive as you’re driving to our hotel, Ol Tukai Lodge. After we check in, freshen up and head for lunch. After lunch you can either rest for an hour or swim. At approx 3-4pm we will leave for your evening game drive. After sunset, we will return to our lodge where we will enjoy dinner before getting some rest.

Day 4 and 5: An early morning start (6.00am) we will depart the lodge to catch the sunrise and golden light. Most animals are usually the most active early in the morning. Our expert local guides will get us to the best locations to capture stunning wildlife imagery. After a fantastic morning game drive we will find a space to enjoy our packed breakfast before returning to the lodge. We will return to the lodge for lunch and some photo editing time before heading out again for an afternoon game drive at approximately 4pm. Upon our return from our game drive, we will grab dinner and you’ll retire for the night.

Day 6: An early morning start (6.00am). On this day you’ll have a short 2-hours game drive in the morning. Before we come back to the lodge for breakfast and then leave Amboselli for Nairobi. This drive will take us approx 4 hours. We will conduct a photo editing session this afternoon or evening to really get the best out of what we have capture so far.

Day 7: An early morning start to make our way to the famed Maasai Mara Reserve. We will have a short game drive as you’re driving to Serena Lodge in the Mara Triangle. After getting to the lodge, you’ll check in, freshen up and head for lunch. After lunch you can either rest for an hour or enjoy the properties facilities. After 3/4pm we’ll leave for your evening game drive. We shall return to the lodge by 6.30-7.00pm. After freshening up you’ll head for dinner and retire for the night.

Day 8,9: For the next 2 days you’ll have a similar routine of an early start before dawn. You’ll be having a packed breakfast for all days. If we are doing a full day safari, then we will also carry packed lunch with you. However, on day 10 you will move to a new lodge; Mara Crossings Camp for 3 nights.

Day 10, 11, 12,: For the next 3 days we’ll have a similar routine of an early start before dawn to capture those amazing images in golden soft light. We will be having a packed breakfast for all the our days on Safari. If we are doing a full day safari, then we will also carry packed lunch with you.

Day 13: On this day we have the option to do a hot air balloon ride over the reserve seeing all the wildlife from above, after the hot air balloon a buffet champagne breakfast will be waiting for you on the ground. If you choose not to do the hot air ballon you can opt to do another game drive at an extra cost of $200usd per person. After we have finished with our breakfast, we will make our way back to Nairobi where we will have a delicious farewell dinner in Nairobi and reminisce over the animals we capture on Safari.

Day 14: This is sadly the last day of the workshop. You are welcome to continue your travels throughout Africa. If you are leaving today, you will have an airport transfer to take you back to the airport. We bid everyone farewell with amazing memories, full memory cards, and one of the best experiences you will have.

Safari Vehicle and Guide:

A 4x4, Safari Land Cruiser vehicle which is specially designed for photographers that can

easily accommodate 4 photographers very comfortably. The vehicle is regularly serviced and

well-maintained prioritizing comfort and safety. Photography beans bags will be provided in

the car. Your guide will be a professional English speaking Masai guide who not only has

many years of experience in guiding, but has very high knowledge about photography,

animal behaviour and the park. While making sure that you get the best sightings, he will

also make sure to respect wildlife and the environment.

Amboseli National Park:

Land of the giants. Amboseli National Park is in southern Kenya. It’s on the border of Kenya and Tanzania. Its famous for big herds of elephants and the stunning view of Mt. Kilimanjaro. The park is not only famous for elephants, but you can also see large herds of zebras,

wildebeests, lions, cheetahs, flamingos, and many other species of birds. During the dry seasons, Lake Amboseli dries up creating a large area of the dry lakebed where you can see huge herds of elephants walking across.

Nairobi National Park:

“The World’s only Wildlife Capital”. A short drive out of Nairobi’s central business district is the Nairobi National Park. Wide open grass plains and backdrop of the city scrapers, scattered acacia bush play host to a wide variety of wildlife including the endangered black rhino, lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, buffaloes, giraffes and diverse birdlife with over 400 species recorded.

Maasai Mara National Reserve:

Located in Southwestern part of Kenya, a vast scenic expanse of gently rolling African savannah plains. It is famous for The African Big Five (Lion, Leopard, Elephant, Buffalo, and Rhino). During the annual wildebeest’s migration (July to September), the savannah is filled with infinite numbers of herbivores. It is the best time to see cats hunting. Other animals such as cheetahs, serval cats, giraffes, hippos, and many more species are easily found.

To secure your spot on this workshop email hello@dreamphotographyworkshops.com.au with the subject being Kenya booking and let us know how many you are booking for and if you are twin share or single supplement and we will send you out an invoice for a $1290twin share/$1475 single supp non refundable deposit and then 6 payments of $2060 twin share/$2360 single supp, total balance will be due on the 26th August 2024.

Cancellation policy

Non refundable deposit is made at time of booking. Cancellation must occur by July 26th, 2024, otherwise full payment is agreed to be paid. If cancelling prior to July 26th, 2024 - full refund of payments will be made (except deposit). Workshop may be cancelled if less than 4 guests book - participants will be notified by July 26th, 2024 if this is to occur (we do not recommend booking flights before this date). If you cancel after the cut off date but can find a replacement full refund less deposit will be refunded. This work shop may be cancelled if we have less than 4 participants.
